Hello, I'm Paul Push. Welcome to my website and thank you for your interest in my new movie, album and novel. As you've probably gathered by now, I enjoy the process of entertaining and being creative. I'm currently based in London in the UK where I moved in 1985 from my home town of Manchester,UK and I'm now embarking on a World Promotional Tour to publicise Breathe Safely the movie, album and You Wanna Buy?, my new novel.
|
I began writing songs and music
at the age of 21 so I was quite a late starter. I then went into the studio
for the first time to record the songs and formed my own band Paul Push
after that. We then played some gigs around London until I started singing
in the workingmen's clubs around London and Southern England doing cover
versions of popular hits from the 50's-90's - as well as impressions of
well-known stars and celebrities.
My
love of movies then inspired me to write my own movie scripts and eventually
my novel which I later adapted into a screenplay for future production.
Breathe Safely, which began as a short, is my first movie and I currently
have four other screenplays in development. With the earnings from the
sales of Breathe Safely - the movie, album and You Wanna buy? the novel,
I plan to invest the money in the production of You Wanna Buy? - The movie,
based on my original novel. My

Breathe Safely, which began as a short, is my first movie and I

from the sales of Breathe Safely – the movie, album and You
Wanna buy? the novel, I plan to invest the money in the production
of You Wanna Buy? - The movie, based on my original novel.

I’ve already been offered a
production deal for You Wanna Buy? by an Australian Producer I
met at the Cannes Film Festival, but it was the kind of deal where he
wanted artistic control over the movie, and as you can see, I love to
be in control of my own work artistically - as well as financially. Besides,
it’ll be such a buzz if I can play the major studios and producers at
their own game and be fully independent and self-financing.
I learned a lot during the making of my first movie Breathe Safely and I must just give a mention to the brilliant
actors, the inspiring crew, and all the fab people who worked for reduced
rates or no pay at all during post-production. You guys know who you are. While we’re on the subject, a million thanks to everyone who worked on Breathe Safely. It was a thrill and we had a fantastic time together!
So,
as you can see, in order to be an Artist, you often have to be an Entrepreneur
and a Businessman at the same time. And this is why I’ve decided to do
the worldwide distribution myself as well as the publishing of my own
novel and music – all through my own company www.paulpush.com.
It’s so much
more rewarding this way. Too many good movies these days can’t get a decent
worldwide release and distribution deal and I’ve heard from so many other
Producers who’ve sold their movies to Sales Agents or Distributors and
have earned very little money.
Nowadays if a
record company representative doesn’t like the first 20 seconds of your
demo tape, it ends up in their bin. And it’s so difficult to get even
a Literary Agent to read the manuscript of a first-time author, never
mind the Publishers who are growing increasingly nervous of taking a ‘risk’
on first-time Authors.
Yet these are
very exciting times right now with the popularity and technological brilliance
of the Internet and eCommerce. The timing is just perfect
for Moviemakers to distribute their own movies on a global scale. The
major studios and distributors have a virtual monopoly of the cinemas
but the hugely-increasing popularity of Video and DVD sales means that
even the smallest producers can find their market.

THE
MAKING OF BREATHE SAFELY Despite being an independent
movie without the kind of budget available for Studio pictures,
the latest technology in Computer Generated Imagery (CGI), camera equipment, Dolby Sound and post-production techniques were used during the
making of Breathe Safely. The
movie has originality, action, comedy, probably the most amazing,
unforgettable bedroom scenes you will ever see (PG13 Rating expected) and
some great locations - including 10 Downing Street, the home of
the British Prime Minister. We were very lucky to be given full
access for our filming, and this in itself is quite rare. It was
incredible to see how accommodating people can be when you ask for
permission to filmat
their premises.Breathe Safely
has screened at film festivals around the world and has had some
excellent reviews from both the Press and Industry alike. Audiences
have always enjoyed it, but when many people approached me to say
how it inspired them to quit smoking, it gave me the idea to make
it The first ever movie with a money-back guarantee if you don’t
quit smoking.
|
And I’m so confident
that if after watching Breathe Safely, any smokers who buy
the Special Edition ‘Kick The Sickarettes’ Set
haven’t quit smoking within 30 days, they can have the movie for
free and get a refund. They just pay for the calendar. It only proves how much
people love movies and the glamour surrounding their production.
You can find out just about everything about the entire production
process and my experiences throughout
production in my new photo book 'The Making Of Breathe Safely'.
It's available from the eStore from November 16th 2000. Well, that's all for now. I'll
keep you updated on the website over the coming months and no doubt
you'll see me on one of your National TV programmes as I publicise
the movie, album and novel on the World Promotional Tour.

EUROPE
2019
Smoking is now illegal and
carries the Death Penalty. The EEC (European Economic Community) have
imposed unprecedented laws that strictly prohibit any form of smoking
activity or products whether in privacy or public. Overnight the tobacco
companies have been wiped out.
It is the duty of The A.I.R (Air Intelligence Regiment) to enforce the
law and deal with any felons. The A.I.R are a highly-trained combat squad
of elite officers. A ruthless and fearless military force with total and
absolute powers to uphold the law and protect the public. Armed and dangerous,
their weapons are loaded with a powerful anaesthetic disinfectant which,
if fired, can render its victim unconscious within 5 seconds and extinguish
the hazard of the cigarette. Not surprisingly, they are feared and respected
by all smoking criminals.
The Smoker's Co-operative Of Underground Militants (SCUM) continue to
smoke their smuggled cigarettes which are available at an incredibly high
price from secretive underworld dealers on the black market
.
Not
only do they risk death by smoking themselves, but the small number of
surviving SCUM terrorists who remain at large are deliberately defying
the law by smoking openly in public places. Their activities have spread
panic and fear amongst the law-abiding public.

The SCUM terrorists have vowed
to fight to the death against these Draconian laws which they feel are
an abuse of Civil and Human Rights. They believe that if enough SCUM terrorists
make a defiant public stand, they might be able to incite sufficient rebellion
and support from the population to force the EEC into changing its laws.
But all their efforts are doomed to failure.

You Wanna Buy? - The
Story
|
| |
| You Wanna Buy? is a poignant comment on the compelling influence
of the Media and advertising world. It is the amazing moral tale of Sam
Laver, a lonely, impoverished young man whose tightly-budgeted life as a
data programmer living in the city of London is thrown into turmoil when
he loses his weekly wage packet. A modest and honourable man, he initially
steals a salmon to conquer starvation then systematically defeats the British
retail industry with an extravagant orgy of audacious shoplifting.
Staring at a computer screen all day and a TV screen all night is the
wrong combination for mental well-being. With no money, no food and no
real hope, Laver is inescapably hypnotised. And so when gorgeous models
spring to life from TV, magazine and billboard advertisements and seduce
him to acquire and consume, there is no way back to drudgery and poverty.
Laver suddenly discovers a premature talent for sprinting to charmed
escapes before rapidly evolving into a cunning and accomplished shoplifter,
a master of disguise and strategic daring who steals to order for the
ultimate price.
Laver amasses a fortune in desirable goods and valuables but eventually
learns to his cost that material possessions, luxurious holidays and glamorous
spending sprees are not the solution for a happier life and that friendship
and love are priceless commodities.
Before learning his lesson the penal way, a Media frenzy glorifies him
in the tabloid Press as the "Baseball Bandit" who fought off security,
Police and their malicious truncheons with the aid of a baseball bat grabbed
from a display as he fled and demolished his way through the crystalwear
department of Harrods with a diamond watch plundered from the Jewellery
Department.
Across the country, his notorious exploits inspire a whole generation
and copycat raids are multiplying swiftly. Whole gangs armed with bats,
poles and bars are blitzing the high streets, ransacking entire stores
and giving rise to the Media term "Revolution Raids".
Laver is released from a horrendous term in jail a completely changed
man. After a brief period of homelessness, sleeping in parks and searching
for the employment that will resurrect his life, fate finally offers the
chance of a lifetime.
He emerges triumphantly in an inspiring and heart-warming ending of romance
and redemption, while the delicious twist at the end of the story certainly
offers food for thought.
